First Billionaires to Become Trillionaires
- Crypto exchange Binance founder Changpeng Zhao is projected to become the world’s first trillionaire, with his wealth growing at an average rate of 886%.
- Walmart heiress Alice Walton could hit trillion-dollar status within two years, making her potentially the first female trillionaire.
- Tech billionaires dominate the race to $1T, with NVIDIA’s Jensen Huang and Tesla’s Elon Musk both projected to cross the threshold by 2030.
With Tesla’s board recently proposing a historic $1T compensation plan for Elon Musk, the emergence of trillionaires is starting to look more real. CasinooftheKings recently did a study to identify people who are most likely to become the world’s first trillionaires.
The research tracked four years of wealth changes for the world’s top billionaires, calculating their average growth rates and projecting how long it would take each to reach $1 trillion. Billionaires were then ranked based on their projected timeline to trillionaire status. These projections assume current growth patterns would continue unchanged.
Here’s a look at the top 10 billionaires most likely to reach $1 trillion first:
Top 10 on the Path to $1 Trillion | Net Worth (2025) | Average Growth Rate (%) | Years to $1 Trillion | Expected Year to $1T |
Changpeng Zhao (CZ) | $63B | 886 | 1 year 2 months | 2027 |
Alice Walton | $101B | 233 | 1 year 9 months | 2027 |
Jensen Huang | $98.7B | 93 | 3 years 5 months | 2029 |
Elon Musk | $342B | 28 | 4 years 4 months | 2030 |
Mark Zuckerberg | $216B | 40 | 4 years 5 months | 2030 |
Jeff Yass | $59B | 62 | 5 years 9 months | 2031 |
Larry Ellison | $192B | 21 | 8 years 8 months | 2034 |
Michael Dell | $97.7B | 26 | 10 years 2 months | 2036 |
Rob Walton & family | $110B | 19 | 13 years | 2038 |
Larry Page | $144B | 16 | 13 years 3 months | 2039 |
Changpeng Zhao (CZ), the crypto exchange Binance founder, ranks first in the race to trillion-dollar status. Despite his current net worth of $63B, placing him lower than many others on the list, his wealth has grown at the highest 886% average annual rate. This growth trajectory puts him on track to reach $1T in just 14 months, making him potentially the world’s first trillionaire by 2027.
Alice Walton, the daughter of Walmart founder, takes second place and could become the world’s first female trillionaire. With a current fortune of $101B and a 233% average growth rate, she’s projected to hit the trillion-dollar mark in 1 year and 9 months.
Jensen Huang holds the third position in the trillionaire race. The NVIDIA founder’s wealth stands at $98.7B and has grown at a 93% annual rate. His net worth surged 265% in 2024 alone, reflecting NVIDIA’s dominant position in the AI chip market. At his current pace, Huang can reach trillionaire status in 3 years and 5 months, around 2029.
Next up is Elon Musk with the highest current net worth at $342B. Growing at a 28% average rate, his valuation has been fluctuating (dropping 18% in 2023 before jumping 75% in 2025). With this rate, Musk can make a trillion-dollar breakthrough in 2030.
Mark Zuckerberg comes in fifth position with a $216B holdings growing at a 40% annual rate. The Meta founder saw his net worth shrink 31% in 2022 before a 175% recovery in 2024. His path to $1 trillion spans 4 years and 5 months, placing him next to Musk in reaching this milestone around 2030.
Jeff Yass, the founder of global trading firm Susquehanna, follows next. Yass has a relatively lower current wealth ($59B) compared to others, but his fortune has been increasing at a 62% annual rate. This growth pattern indicates he could reach the trillion-dollar club by 2031.
Larry Ellison from Oracle (a multinational technology company) takes seventh place, being valued at $192B. Ellison’s net worth has been growing steadily at about 21% each year. If his capital keeps growing like this, he could become a trillionaire in under nine years.
In the eighth place is Michael Dell, the founder of Dell Technologies. His net worth stands at $97.7B, growing at an average of 26% per year. Provided that this trend continues, Dell could join the trillionaire ranks by 2036, about 10 years and 2 months from now.
Rob Walton & family land in ninth place with a $110B fortune that is expanding at a 19% annual rate. The Walmart heir’s wealth decreased 11% in 2023 before rebounding 34% in 2024 and 42% in 2025. This pattern puts the Walton family on a 13-year trajectory to reach $1T by 2038.
With $144B, Larry Page holds the tenth spot. Page’s assets grow by around 16% a year. After falling 29% in 2023, his net worth bounced back with a major increase in the next consecutive years, and if this growth continues, he will reach $1T in 2039.
“Billionaires run the biggest companies that dominate their respective markets,” says CasinooftheKings spokesperson. “These mega-companies have become too big to fail. They can either buy out smaller rivals or outspend them until they give up. What also really makes them special is how much money they pour into new technology. The billions they invest today in AI and automation will likely create even bigger returns tomorrow. This is why we’re seeing their wealth grow so fast: they control huge markets and invest heavily in tech that keeps them ahead of everyone else.”
