The United States ranks 1st with the highest monthly spending on digital entertainment at $29.5 billion. The market shows a distinctive spending pattern, with 80.6% allocated to internet services, while TV streaming accounts for 14% despite high user numbers. Meanwhile, only half of internet users subscribe to music streaming services. The U.S. also has the second-most expensive internet price reaching $75.

India ranks 2nd with monthly spending of $12.9 billion. The market leads globally with 1.4 billion TV streaming users, reaching double the internet user base, nearly five times the US figure. Music streaming services reach nearly 90% of internet users, almost double the US rate.

Indonesia ranks 3rd with monthly spending of $8.5 billion. TV streaming reaches 124% of internet users, lower than India’s rate but higher than the US. Music streaming adoption stands at 65.3% of internet users. At the same time, Internet services account for 72% of total spending.

Coming in 4th, Brazil has a monthly spending of $5.5 billion, about two-fifths of Indonesia’s total. Similar to the previous three countries, TV streaming penetration exceeds the internet user base. The country spends $32 per person on digital entertainment, which is double India’s rate but only a third of US spending.

Mexico comes 5th with monthly spending of $5.1 billion. Music streaming adoption reaches 63% of internet users, matching Indonesia’s rate. The average Mexican spends $49.37 monthly, half of what Americans spend.

Japan ranks 6th with $5 billion in monthly spending, just a bit below Mexico. In contrast to all previous countries, Japan shows lower music streaming adoption with only 24% of internet users subscribing, the lowest rate among countries mentioned so far. Internet services generate an even larger share of spending than in the US, at nearly four-fifths of the total.

The United Kingdom comes in 7th, spending $4.9 billion monthly. The UK stands out from all previously mentioned countries with the highest streaming prices – nearly triple India’s rates. British consumers spend $81 per person monthly, second only to Saudi Arabia and almost double Japan’s rate.

Germany ranks 8th with $4.1 billion in monthly spending. While its streaming prices are lower than the UK’s, they remain higher than all other previously mentioned countries except the US. Germans spend nearly $60 monthly per person, positioning them between Japanese and British spending levels.

In 9th, The Philippines spends about $3.9 billion monthly on digital entertainment. Music streaming adoption matches Indonesia at about two-thirds of internet users, significantly higher than nearby Japan’s rate. Monthly per-person spending sits at $45, lower than all previously mentioned countries except India and Indonesia.

Saudi Arabia rounds out the top ten with $3.4 billion in monthly spending, the lowest among the countries. However, it leads all previous countries in both internet prices and per-person spending at $91 and $107, respectively. Its music streaming adoption rate of less than a quarter matches Japan’s low rate while being lower than neighboring Middle Eastern countries.

A spokesperson from CasinooftheKings commented on the study: “The digital streaming revolution has shattered traditional market assumptions. High-cost markets don’t automatically translate to high engagement – quite the opposite. Looking ahead, we expect to see streaming platforms adapting their pricing strategies to capitalize on markets where high user numbers offset lower per-user revenue. This shift signals a fundamental change in how we should evaluate market potential in the digital entertainment space.”
